ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL) of the School of Law of The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, is organizing the 2026 "Nikolaos Politis" Lecture, featuring Judge and former Vice-President of the International Court of Justice, Ms. Xue Hanqin, as the keynote speaker. The topic of the lecture is: The Strength of Multilateralism: A Judicial Perspective on the Relationship between Member States and the United Nations.

The event will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 18:00 in the Great Hall of the University of Athens (Main Building, 30 Panepistimiou St.).

Programme

• Opening address by the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siasos.
• Welcome remarks by the Dean of the School of Law, Professor Konstantinos Christodoulou.
• Introduction of the keynote speaker by the Director of the Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL), Professor Photini Pazartzis.
• Lecture by Judge and former Vice-President of the International Court of Justice, Ms. Xue Hanqin.
