The Athens Law School is a member of the European Law School Network since 2020, thus enabling it to collaborate with some of the most prestigious Law Schools in Europe, which are the:
The European Law School (ELS) Network was established in 2006 and aims to provide postgraduate students with an education that meets the requirements of a truly European lawyer. Students first complete their bachelor’s degree at their home university and then pursue an LL.M Programme at two partner universities of the ELS Network, obtaining two Master’s degrees. For example, a student from King’s College London may study at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin or La Sapienza, Università di Roma, and subsequently at Athens Law School or the Católica Lisbon School of Law. Upon completion of their studies, participants receive the “Juriste Européen” Certificate, attesting to their familiarity with three legal cultures and their ability to engage in scholarly legal discourse across different jurisdictions. Each year, fourteen (14) students selected by the partner universities may be admitted to the LL.M Programme, in accordance with their home university’s admission procedures. Students benefit from the close cooperation among partner universities, including staff mobility and participation in summer schools. Once a year, students and professors meet to develop modern legal skills and collectively reflect on contemporary legal issues, such as law in the era of digitalization. As a result, ELS alumni are well prepared for leading roles in European and international law firms and institutions.
