Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration NKUA. He holds an LLB from the University of Essex, an LLM from Tulane University and a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Ilias has worked as a researcher at the University of Athens and for the UN Office in Geneva (International Law Commission). He was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam (2012-2015) working at the SHARES project. He has taught at the Universities of Athens and Amsterdam and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Oxford. His research interests include public international law, the law of international responsibility, international environmental law and the law of the sea.
