GREAT SUCCESS OF OUR TEAM IN THE NATIONAL ROUNDS OF THE PHILIP C. JESSUP INTERNATIONAL LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2024

The team from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has won the national round of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which took place on 13 February 2024, and will represent Greece in the international final, in Washington, D.C. (USA) from 30 March to 6 April 2024.

Jessup is the world's oldest, largest and most emblematic international moot court competition covering all aspects of public international law, in which the School of Law has consistently participated with memorable distinction.

This year's team consists of the undergraduate students Anagnostopoulou Efpraxia, Zeris Ioannis, Dybalska Elisavet and LL.M. students Panagiotis Riskakis and Kalypso-Sofia Sdrali. The team won both matches of the national round against the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was awarded the prize for the best memorandum, while the student Efpraxia Anagnostopoulou was awarded the prize for the best oralist.

The successful preparation of the team was under the academic supervision of Dr Efthymios Papastavridis (Researcher and Lecturer at the Law School of the University of Athens and at Oxford University Law School, Research Associate at the Academy of Athens and at the Centre for International Law of the University of Athens), Matina Papadaki, (PhD candidate in International Law at the Law School of the University of Athens and Research Associate at the Academy of Athens) and Aspasia Marinaki (trainee lawyer and former contestant).

We congratulate the team for this important distinction and wish the students success at the international round in Washington DC in April.
