FUNDAMENTALS OF EU LAW – GUEST ONLINE LECTURE BY DR N. PETROPOULOS 09.11.2022, 15.00-17.00

We are very pleased to announce that Dr Nick Petropoulos will give a guest online lecture for the course «Fundamentals of EU Law» in the context of the 2022/23 LLM in International & European Law, on the subject «Federalism or “Federalism”? The United States and the European Union in Comparative Perspective». The lecture will take place on 09.11.2022, 15.00-17.00, via Webex (https://uoa.webex.com/meet/manpapad).

Nick Petropoulos holds a PhD in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York, a masters in European Law from Athens Law School, and a MSc in Security Management from the University of Portsmouth, UK. He has received training in teaching methodologies from the City University of New York as well as the University of Oxford and over the course of the last 15 years he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on law, comparative criminal justice, terrorism and human rights at universities, research centers and public organizations in the US, Italy, Cyprus and Greece. He is currently a research fellow at the Center on Terrorism at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NYC; in the past he worked as a researcher with the Center for International Human Rights/John Jay College where he focused on the compatibility of the UN sanctions against individuals with specific provisions of International and European law. Last but not least, Dr Petropoulos has published on law and criminal justice-relates issues in peer-reviewed journals in the US and the UK and he also served as a reviewer for a number of academic journals, including Policing: A Journal of Policy and Practice  and Cogent Social Sciences (Taylor and Francis Group).
