Students at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens who are interested in participating in the All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition 2026, which will take place in mid-November 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, are invited to attend our first meeting on Friday 8 May 2026, at 13:00, in Room A, 45 Akadimias Street.

The All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition is organised annually under the auspices of the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana and is based on a case study carefully prepared in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNHCR and the Slovenian Red Cross. The Competition examines the most important and topical issues concerning international humanitarian, refugee, and international criminal law and is designed to encourage students to study and understand the fundamental concepts of these branches of international law by addressing specific legal problems before experienced judges and jury members.

The NKUA School of Law will participate in this competition for the fifth consecutive year,

having reached the semi-finals in all its previous participations, emerging as the winning team of the Competition in two of them and as a finalist in one of them.

Interested students should: a) have successfully passed the course ‘Public International Law’ (except, obviously, for first-year students); b) have a good command of the English language; c) have a keen interest in Public International Law; and d) be willing, if selected, to devote the required time for preparation.

Interested candidates are invited to submit a) a full CV and b) a short motivation letter in English to the attention of Dr. Stavros Pantazopoulos (spantazo@law.uoa.gr). They are requested to include their grades in all courses (undergraduate or postgraduate) relating to international law and any other activities they consider relevant.
