SUMMER COURSES ON SPACE LAW AND POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN CENTER OF SPACE LAW (ECSL)

Summer Courses on Space Law and Policy of the European Center of Space Law (ECSL)

Starting on Monday 26.8.2024, the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has the great pleasure to host the Summer Courses on Space Law and Policy of the European Center of Space Law (ECSL). For two weeks, 51 students from all over Europe will have the opportunity to learn about International Space Law through lectures by distinguished academics and high-level professionals in the field.

The courses have been systematically and carefully organised by a large team of graduate and undergraduate students of the School, distinguished for their achievements in International Space Law, under the supervision and coordination of Associate Prof. G. Kyriakopoulos.

The courses were opened this morning by the Dean of the Law School, Prof. L.-A. Sicilianos and the Director of the Athens PIL, Prof. Ph. Pazartzis.

At the end of the courses, a Young Scholars Conference on Outer Space Law will be held for the first time at the European level, which will also be co-organised by the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Athens PIL with the ECSL. The theme of the conference is "Space Exploration VS Space Exploitation". It is expected that 30 students of all levels from all over the world will participate and speak.

The above events demonstrate the high level of involvement of the Law Scool of Athens in space law and its special academic standing worldwide.
