Marie DeCock will give an online guest lecture with the title "The government as undertaking: local governments (collaborating) in environmental issues". The lecture is organised within the framework of the course “Environmental Law & the EU Internal Market”, but we warmly invite and encourage all students of the 2022/23 LL.M. in International & European Law to attend. Marie DeCock is an Assistant Professor in Administrative Law at the 'Centre for Government and Law' at Hasselt University (Belgium) and at the 'Department of Public Law' at Maastricht University (the Netherlands). Marie is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO).

Her research focuses on administrative law (administrative organization, economic administrative law, local government), inter-municipal cooperation, the public-private law divide, and comparative law, and her current postdoctoral research project is titled 'The enigma of inter-municipal enterprises: towards transnational legal principles on corporatization by local governments'. During the next academic year, she will conduct a research project titled: 'Inter-municipal cooperation in civil and common law traditions: a comparative law study of the legal framework and anti-corruption action' at Yale University (USA).
